AgE 2.6 : Overview

The AgE platform is designed for solving optimization and simulation problems by multi-agent systems utilizing meta-heuristics such as evolutionary algorithms.

Particular systems are built by providing a system description file, which includes, inter alia, computation decomposition (i.e. types of agents, their structure, types of operations that specify algorithms), problem-dependent parameters and a problem to be solved. Based on the file, a system is assembled from components chosen from available libraries, and then agents and their environments are created, configured and distributed among nodes. Afterwards, a computation is performed until it reaches a stop condition, defined also in the description file. During the execution time some agents have attached monitors responsible for collecting problem-dependent data in order to visualize the current state and the final results of the ordered task.
